que ? don't understand ! gobbledegook etc
hi ive just bought a asrock n7ad-sli mobo 4gb of ocz ddr2 highend mem pc2 6400 800 mhz put it alltogether and all i get is one long bleep and 8 short bleeps, ive only just changed the insides as it was a ccl build computer and did not want to invalidate the warrenty.
I've tried different memory and a smaller graphic card but the monitor wont start up.
I only got the RAM and mobo at the weekend and have tried pushing all cables and cards to make sure seated ok but no diffrence.
The power pack it a 600w one the graphic card is a zotac 8800gt and was ok on the last mobo , I think the processor is a quad core q6600 but not sure.
Thanks for any help given, before I take apart and take them back to ccl,
P.S. just upgraded to windows 7, wot a load of **** its coming of when comp starts again.

is the 6 pin connected to the gfx card from the psu?

yes one power to card which turns the fan on and it works,
one power cord to mother board 24 pin,
then two power wires to a 8 socket on motherboard but will work with either 20 pin and 4 pin power cabled depending on psu,
hard drives spin up.
Its just that no display to monitor it just says no signal.
Looks like might have to take to local computer shop to sort out or take the parts out and put old ones back in. and send back to ccl.

Your post's are a little hard to follow. Try breaking them down in to bullet points.
Please don't think I'm trying to be condescending it's just we might be abale to help you solve this if we have the information in a format where we can see the whole picture. Also please try and use paragraphs.
- You had..
(System Spec)- You did..
(New items you put in)- What you've done to fix it..
- (Removed all but one stick of ram)
- (Tried old GPU)
I
*** EDIT ***
I've updated your posts layout so there a little easier to read and I think you need to try a few things.
Also.. what the heck is wrong with windows 7?! Fantastic OS.
- Remove all hardware from the system bar,
- Mobo
- RAM
- CPU
- PSU
- GPU
See if you get a response. If you do start plugging stuff in until it stops working.- Remove all stick's of RAM and try to get it to post using only one stick at a time.
- Try clearing the CMOS.
- Have you screwed the mobo to the case? Please tell me you used the brass standoffs'??

You've changed motherboard and you don't know what CPU you've fit to it?
I'm scared that anything anyone says is gonna end in electrocution or magic smoke, so I'm not even going to suggest anything![]()
Intel Q9300 @3Ghz, DFI BloodIron P35-T2RL, MSI Geforce 9800GTX +Accelloro Xtreme 9800GTX cooler, 4Gb Geil DDR2 960Mhz, Noctura NH-U12P, Coolermaster 700W Real Power PSU, 500Gb WD Caviar SATA, 500Gb 2ndary SATA, Liteon SATA DVD-RW, Thermaltake Soprano Silver Case. Windows 7 Pro
I'm not a computer buff I only know that the processor is a quad core 2.4Ghz.
Yes I placed on to brass pins.
I will look on CCL's web site to see if they still do the computer I ordered and put the numbers on here.
Like I say I know just a little bit and if I put the old mother board back in with the old memory it works.
It's just that since buying a new motherboard and extra memory that I cannot get it to fire up on the screen, I just get 0ne long bleep then eight short bleeps then nothing.
Anyway just of to find the numbers for you

PARAGRAPHS PLEASE

It's very hard to read anything you type if it's all in one blob. All it's going to do is slow us helping you down.
Have you tried anything I suggested? apart from making sure its on the brass stand off's?
1. Remove all hardware from the system bar,
- Mobo
- RAM
- CPU
- PSU
- GPU
See if you get a response. If you do start plugging stuff in until it stops working.
2. Remove all stick's of RAM and try to get it to post using only one stick at a time.
3. Try clearing the CMOS.
What's the make and model of the new motherboard.

I've checked the manufacturer of the new motherboard and everything you have should work, there are no visible signs of any incompatibility issues.
Do what Kav has mentioned above & post back with your results.

I don't understand at all....
We have all listed way for you to fix your PC and all you seem to have done is get more upset and throw your rattle out.
Why go pay some guy to fix something you could have fixed for free?
If I can fix something I will, if it's my PC, Car, Light Fitting, Leakey Tap, Desk, Cupboard. Anything!
If you can fix it your self why not.
You keep saying your no 'PC Buff' but if you put a new MOBO in you must have a basic idea of what's going on making anything listed on this page a breeze for you to do.
End of the day it's your PC so do what ever you want with it. I just don't understand why you ask for help and ignore everything we suggest to help you.

i tryed wot youve all said and still not work.
i put the old mother board and memory in and it works .
so i must be doing something right, mabey the things i bought are faulty,
i will have to see wot they say when they get to look at it.
yes i threw the rattle out of the pram but there is only so much you can do, you can put in and out all bloody day but if still not work, you have to draw the line.
thanks to every one for info.
even if i cannot write properley,or know wots in my computer.. ie numbers
searider
Well you didn't tell us that you had
Yes you can only put in and out so many times but if your doing the something over and over again and it still now working try something new??
I wasn't having a go mate.
As you'd not said you'd tried anything that we had suggested... that lead me to what I said.
You have tired it with only one stick of the new stuff?
Have you tried it with the old RAM, changing the voltage of the RAM to fit the new RAM. Turn it off and put the new RAM in?
Only just thought of that.
